Thunderbird Falls
Thunderbird Falls is a waterfall in Eklutna State Park about a 1/2 hr from our house. Jason, Jess and I decided to get out for a bit on Saturday and check it out. There is about a mile walk in the birch forrest to the waterfall viewing point. The waterfall itself is a total of 2oo feet high. The walk through the woods itself was really beautiful and it was nice to enjoy the slightly warmer temperature (25 degrees on Saturday). After reaching the viewing point, we decided to go down and walk along the path down by the frozen creek, which led directly to the bottom of the waterfall. It was very cool...though the creek was frozen solid (atleast a few feet of ice deep) you could still hear the water running below it. These pictures really don't do the whole event justice, but I had to try :)
