memorial day parade

slightly out of order here is memorial day :) there was a parade is downtown York that both Drew and Jason marched in. Drew participated with the boy scouts and carried the flag. Jason's squadron from the base came and marched as well. Jess and I went and watched them. As we followed the parade route to the cemetery for the dedication ceremony we saw a few plaques that were for men from the area that participated in different military envolvments over the years. the VFW laid wreaths at each of these plaques that morning.

Jess' Concert

On June 1st and 3rd the high school choirs performed a concert. Jess was in the treble choir and they performed first. They also then joined the other 2 choirs for the finale. They did a terrific job, especially concidering how hot it was in the church those days :)

olympic day (field day)

June 1st was Olympic Day (field day) for the fourth graders. They held it at the high school field. Drew competed in the obstacle course, the hudles, the long jump, tug of war and throwing the fox tail. It was a fun day for all the kids and they were all good sports :)

On May 20th Drew's fourth grade class and one of the other fourth grade classes performed a play about the ocean and taking care of it. Drew was a pink dolphin. They did a great job! I've got 2 videos, but I'm having a hard time uploading them...so I'll post these pictures for now.

Drew's Concert

on May 19th the fourth grades at Drew's school put on a choir concert. Each class wore different color shirts. They did a great job and had a good time :)

Orientation Day on a KC-135

Yesterday I (and any other interested spouse) was given the chance to go up on a KC-135 and learn about Jason's new airplane. I sat in the jumpseat directly behind the pilots for take off which was a very cool experience. I've never done that before in any plane! Then while we were in the air we refueled a c-5 which is so much larger than a kc-135! They let us climb down into the boom area (where the person manuvers the gas hook-ups to connect with the other plane) and watch. It was like nothing i've ever seen before! A really neat experience and glad I was able to go!!

Immigration Day

Drew's school did what they called Immigration Day on May 5th. Each child had done some research on their own family history and picked a name and a country to be from. The gym was then set-up as Ellis Island. There were stations each child attended for medical checks, proper papers, bag checks and even a stop at the statue of liberty :) The kids really enjoyed it. Afterward they gave the oath of citizenship and sang patriotic songs. It was a very unique experience!

Lunch at the Beach

One day while the kids were on spring break the weather was really nice, so while the girls were at work Drew and I packed sandwiches and snacks. When we picked the girls up we headed to the beach for a picnic. It was fun hangin out and enjoying only being 10 minutes from the ocean. What a great break from the real world :)

Easter 2010

Easter this year was April 4th 2010. The girls and Drew got up early to check out their baskets and hunt for eggs. I had to work, so it was nice to be a part of things before I left :) Then I had left Jason and the kids with Easter dinner pretty much under control and left for work for the day. When I came home in the evening dinner was completely done and everything was wonderful! It was a really nice ending to the day to eat together and hang out :)

Drew's Birthday

Drew's 10th birthday was April 3rd 2010. He invited 2 friends to go with him to see How to Train Your Dragon in 3D and then back to our house for ice cream cake. Zach, Chris and Drew loved the movie!! After ice cream cake they went outside to play some hoops with Drew's new basketball net.

Pinewood Derby Race

Saturday was the boyscout pinewood derby. Drew worked on his car with Jason before Jason left for Kansas and then Drew finished the rest of it over the last few weeks. He did a really great job! His car came in 4th place. The video clip is the heat he came in first :) you can tell by his reaction at the end! He had a lot of fun and we are really proud of him.
