The Night at the Museum

Saturday night Drew's Boy Scout Den was able to do a sleepover in the Museum of Natural History in Mountain View. They had an absolute blast! They ate McDonalds, made rockets out of alka seltzer, water and a film canister, made plaster paris fossils, tested to see any of the boys were aliens (and gave them the antidote), made paper airplanes, watched Bolt and more!! They got to sleep anywhere they wanted in the Museum. Drew and I chose to sleep near the wolves. We woke up this morning and the boys had waffles (with options of chocolate syrup and whip cream) and apple juice and there were bagels and coffee (greatly appreciated coffee!) for the adults.

Pinewood Derby Race 2009

Saturday March 28, 2009 was the Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby Race. Jessie took Drew since I had to work and Jason was in McChord. She also took pictures for me :) Drew had a great time and his car did well. They also had hot dogs and chips for lunch before the event was over.

Soccer

Monday night was Drew's last soccer game for this season. They played against a team from Ft. Richardson and then we went to the Arctic Oasis for some cupcakes and trophies. It was a great season and everyone had a great time.

snow machine

On Thursday I had to go back to work, so Jason and the kids took mom out on the snowmachine. They went to 6 mile lake here on base. Everyone had a great time and they took some good pictures and a video of mom on her solo maiden voyage :)

Alyeska

On Tuesday we went to Girdwood and Alyeska. Really what the area is known for is the snow resort at Alyeska, but there is also a wildlife conservation park we drove though. We figured mom should see a moose while she was here even if it was behind a fence :) At Alyeska we rode a tram to the top of the mountain with skiers and snowboarders and checked out the beauty and view from the top. It was snowing up there so the view wasn't so vast, but it was still amazing. We had coffee and hot chocolate and hung out for a bit before riding back down and finding dinner :)

Around Town

Today we stayed closer to home and took Mom around Anchorage. We saw the snow sculptures from Fur Rondy that were still up, the statue of Balto downtown, Earthquake park for a great view of the inlet, the Wildberry chocolate factory and had snacks and coffee (or hot chocolate or dr pepper) at Orso to show Mom where I work.
