Gold Panning

While Jason's family was visiting the only thing his dad really wanted to do in Alaska was pan for gold. Luckily Crow Creek mine..which is still an active gold mine..isn't too far from the house. Again the weather cooperated and everyone had a fun afternoon. We didn't find too much besides the few flakes they give you mixed in with some dirt to practice panning. There was a father and son not far from us that had been there all day and they seemed to get a little lucky, but miners are pretty secretive about that stuff :)
